Methanesulfonyl azide

CAS 1516-70-7, Cat. No EN300-227474

Reagent for diazotransfer and click-chemistry

Methanesulfonyl azide is a simple reagent that is perfectly suited for diazotransfer reactions. In such cases, it exhibits perfect compatibility with other functional groups and behaves as any other azide compound. This reagent offers several advantages, including its relatively small molecular size and straightforward purification process following the reaction. As an azide compound, methanesulfonyl azide can also be employed in copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) reactions to form triazole rings. The resulting triazole products can be easily deprotected, allowing for further manipulation or modification of the synthesized compounds.

Synonyms: N-diazomethanesulfonamide, Mesyl azide
